Legal Hub Uganda was initiated in January 2017 by a pool of lawyers involved in legal aid service delivery, and duly registered as a Non-Government Organization (NGO) on 21st January 2019
Recent studies show that 49.9% (22,481,979) of Uganda’s population is under 15 years while 48.1% (21,677,086) is between 15 and 64 years (Google: UNICAF). Being a significant portion of the country’s population directly makes youth majority of those in conflict with the law and thus a huge category of those in need of legal assistance. Particular areas of law where young people may need assistance will include cyberbullying, online safety, drug and substance abuse, sexual offences, theft and others. Our school outreach program and other deliberate youth friendly services are currently contributing to awareness among the youth, and as such contributing to the reduction in Uganda.
